Princess core, Cottage core & everything in between...

Princess core, cottage core, fairy core and other popular topics on social media have been lighting up our timelines these days. These are lifestyles based off of aesthetics, history and fairytale.

For princess core lover's the fanciful feasts, pillowy poofy dresses, and gourmet pastries with tea in the finest China are a common regimen. Tik Tok influencers can be seen doing doe eyed makeup looks or showing off their luxe pink bedrooms with these trends hash tagged.

Princess core gained popularity and brought together Disney enthusiasts, fairytale believers, and pretty princesses young and old. Some even incorporate it into daily living with frilly blouses, pearls and pink all over ensembles.

While a lot of onlookers have been praising this phenomenon sweeping social media platforms, there are certainly some naysayers. Some comments I've noticed from social media have alleged that the aesthetics romanticize times when women weren't allowed to have a voice and were to only "look pretty".

While the fact is women have certainly overcome a lot (and we are still fighting against) the things that were put in place to keep us "in line". These portrayals seem to be more positive than anything. Princess core influencers such as Porsha Hall, Megan Soigne and others have used their platforms to show that these lifestyles are more than just dainty dresses and meek attitudes. They shed light on bringing a kind, nostalgic, eloquent way of doing things to the modern world. They have also spoken of being allowed to enjoy their femininity while using princess core as an outlet.

I'd have to respectfully disagree with the naysayers. Why not allow self-proclaimed princesses, fairies and queens to display their whimsical fashions and princess inspired hairstyles, while treating others with kindness and grace. Not to mention, I truly believe every little girl and woman deserves the princess experience if she so chooses. For me princess core gives us all an alternative lifestyle choice to choose from that may also give us the nostalgic feelings we felt when watching our favorite Disney movies. "Sigh" this perspective is also coming from a Disney princess, pink loving, glam gal though so....

Do you think you'd support or participate in princess core, fairy core or something similar? I'd love to read your perspectives.
